NEWS & NOTES FOR THE 12/17 & 12/18 WEEKEND
• THE MISSION OF THE MONTH FOR DECEMBER: “Wounded Warriors.”
• THANKS TO ALL who helped with the wrapping the Christmas Giving Tree gifts. The support from the confirmands and their families were over whelming as well as the Preschool families and all our parishioners. Thank you all for the time and money spent to make someone else’s Christmas happy. Special thanks to Michael Maione who delivered the gifts to Lutheran Social Services in Uniondale. All of your support made this large endeavor happy and pleasant!
• LIKE TO DECORATE?! Come to the church on Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 10 am to help “Deck” the Nave with boughs of holly.
• WE ARE CONTINUING TO COLLECT items for our soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq. All donations can be placed in the appropriate bin in the lobby. The VFW will be sending the collected items to our troops. If you have any questions, please call Anita Trabold at 826-0033.
• CHRISTMAS EVE WORSHIP SCHEDULE: On Saturday, December 24th there will be a Children’s Service at 4:00 pm and Candlelight Services at 7:00 pm and at 10:30 pm. Christmas Day there will be Holy Communion service at 10:00 am. Please note that there will be NO 5:30 Saturday service on 12/24 and NO Sunday School classes Dec. 25th & Jan. 1st. Please also note that there will be a 5:30 pm Festival of Lessons & Carols on Dec. 31st, New Year’s Eve and a 10:00 am Festival of Lessons & Carols on Sunday, January 1st. Sunday School will resume on January 8, 2012.
• COMING UP: “SNOWFLAKE EVENT” for all youth 6th grade and up at Dave and Busters on January 28, 2012 at 4:00 pm. Information will be handed out during Wednesday night classes.
